In 1988, after the purchase of our 400-ton Liebherr crane, there was a need for a strong heavy tractor. The choice felt on this strong four-axled truck with a Volvo F12 cab.
The 'Bear out of Benschop' (Bear reminds of the firmlogo, Benschop is a town in the Netherlands) got behind it a nice trailer from Nooteboom that was good for 78 tons of loading capacity. In the praxis 65 tonnes of crane counterweight, a 7 tonnes winchframe and four Baseplates, 2,5 tonnes each were carried. Compared to now, the short day cab could be called spartanic. With sixteen gears, there were enough steps to get up to speed.
